Perennial Nursery
Perennial Nursery
Cherry ($22)
Seedlings from Juliet cherry shrubs. These offspring have more of a tree habit than their mother, but the same delicious fruit. One should fruit alone. Give it a friend for stronger production.Plum ($22)
Seedlings from Pembina plums. The plum doesn't fall far from the tree. That's what they say, right? You'd be wise to plant more than one to ensure pollination.Apple ($22)
Seedlings from Goodland apples. Extreme heterozygosity is a mouth full of a term. It means that these allies might be best served as a root stock to be grafted on, if you want big juicy apples. Note that these will grow to be full-on trees, unlike the sickly dwarves you'll find at the garden center.Butternut ($60)
These walnut trees are majestic. Give them a couple decades and they'll give you buckets of protein for the rest of your existence in the physical realm. Sorry about the price, limited supply and I kind of want to plant them in our own forest garden.Manitoba Maple ($16)
These powerhouse pioneers are excellent companions for your fruit trees. Most permaculturists focus on companions that pump nitrogen into the soil. Our experience has been that nitrogen fixing pioneers like wolf willow, buffalo berry and sea berry are all slow growers from seed. The Manitoba maple will kick start the fungal network that ties your forest garden together.Manitoba Grape ($22)
We start these from cuttings, unlike the rest of our nursery. These vines can astound you with their growth rate. The delicious flavour of the small purple grapes will remind you of drinking Welch's juice in your childhood.Haskap - Tundra ($22)
We start these from root division, unlike the rest of our nursery. Big, delicious berries at the end of June. Tundra partners well with Honey Bee and Aurora varieties (we hope to offer those varieties to you in the future).email your order to rmforestgarden@gmail.com
